To set language on a computer, you need to be able to log in to the computer with an administrator privilege. Depending on the language, you may need the Windows' installation CD. Because you are changing the language setting of the computer, you may see funny characters in various applications you use on the computer.
For Windows 2000 or XP:
1. from the Start menu, select Control panel
2. select Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options
3. select Regional and Language Options
4. in the Advanced tab, select the language of your choice from the drop down list in "Language for non-Unicode programs"
5. click Apply, and restart when prompted
At this point, the computer may ask for installation CD.
For Vista:
1. from the Start menu, select Control panel
2. select clock, language and region
3. select formats tab, then change the format to the language of your choice
